Webster Groves | In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session
Two weekends ago I got the chance to photograph my HLM coworker Diane, her husband Dave, and their new little baby boy, Simon. He’s the cutest y’all.
I met Diane almost 4 years ago, my first week in the office at HLM. Those of us who have been around that long have watched her get married, live the newlywed life, become an aunt, get pregnant, and have a baby of her own! And I think it’s safe to say we’re all so happy for her and Dave!
When Diane was pregnant she asked me about a newborn session for after Simon made his entrance into this world. Obviously I was ecstatic! I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again - I love when people I know through or because of HLM also appreciate and support my love and passion for photography! So big shout out to Diane for joining the club!
Their lifestyle in-home newborn session was simple, casual, and laid back - and I loved it. I just moved about their home capturing their interactions with one another and baby Simon - the looks, the kisses, the snuggles. It made my heart so very happy.
I remember a time ago when I was convinced newborns weren’t my thing, but years later it hit me… It's newborns that are dressed as fairies and perfectly posed with their chin in their hands that aren’t really my style (PS - If that’s what you’re looking for I can totally refer you to some amazing photographers who do that, and do it insanely well!) But the newborns nuzzled sweetly in-between mom and dad as they fold into one another and sit in the awe of being a family of 3 (or 4 or 5 or 6)... That’s my thing.
